AOJQ AOJQ

The gift of an artist

In 2011, the sculptor André Patenaude presented the AOJQ with a magnificent sculpture.

This work, which combines native and exotic species of wood, evokes the different sections of a symphony orchestra. The AOJQ logo is carved in a black walnut base and flanked by a bass clef on the left and a note on the right.

In the upper part, three medallions are connected by ties of black walnut to symbolize the interdependence of the various instruments of the orchestra. The left medallion shows the violin and bow carved in white ash on a Honduras mahogany background, the right one has a clarinet of steamed cherry, and the top one, the French horn in black walnut.
